Evo API Lifecycle
Evo APIs have a well-defined lifecycle.
Technology Preview
We may release new APIs, features, or endpoints as a Technology Preview. This allows you to review upcoming capabilities and provide feedback. Additionally, it assists us in making sure we are providing the right solutions and expected functionality.
Technology Preview functionality is marked as such and is 'opt-in'.
Functionality marked as Technology Preview should not be used for production work. It has no specified SLA and may be removed from the platform at any time.
General Availability
APIs in General Availability (GA) are available for production-ready use. We ensure the operational integrity of our APIs, including ongoing maintenance, versioning, monitoring, and critical bug/security fixes.
APIs can remain in GA for an unlimited period; however, substantial changes to the structure and function of the API can require a change in version. In cases of a major version change when the new version becomes GA, we transition the older version to a Deprecated status.
Unless otherwise stated, an API can be considered in General Availability.
Deprecated
We deprecate an API when we replace it with a different API or update it to a new version. If you are using the deprecated API for your solutions, you are encouraged to update to take advantage of the new capabilities.
We keep deprecated APIs available and supported for a maximum of one year.
End of Support
Once the deprecation period of an API has elapsed, we consider it at End of Support and will remove it from the Evo Platform ecosystem.
